I completed training with Lana in December 2021. I had found her YTT 200 program shortly before it started. She was very prompt to answer my questions and I was able to meet her before registering for the training to ensure working with her would be a good fit. She sent communication in advance on what to expect each week. The content and daily agenda were intense and the days were long, but we were in a cozy space and the small group became like family. I prefer working solo but survived the partner assignments. I had over committed though, trying to finish PhD studies at one university, while teaching at another, and interning at a third. There were many times where I thought I had reached my limit and was stressed, but I kept showing up and worked on keeping myself in check. When it came time for the program project I was beyond overwhelmed, but Lana made it so that I could complete the required training. Regarding the material, we got to meet various teachers who were very knowledgeable. I initially signed up just to learn more about yoga. I thought I had been practicing in an empty way. I knew that things were missing from my classes. After completing this YTT I understood what that void was. In one of the readings there was a quote from Iyengar that says “Practice of asanas without the backing of yama and niyama is mere acrobatics.” This was it! I have taken private classes with Lana since the training, so the teachings have continued. If you have been seeking more for your practice, I definitely recommend YTT, especially with Lana.
Lana was a wonderful instructor!! We are thought skills that go beyond instructing a yoga class, like business skills and what yoga is besides the asana practice. Would highly recommend this school!!
