Just Plain Yoga
About Just Plain Yoga
Just Plain Yoga offers a comprehensive 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training grounded in tradition and informed by contemporary understanding of the nervous system, anatomy, and real-world teaching.
Our training is designed for those who want a thoughtful, accessible, and well-rounded yoga education—whether the goal is to teach professionally or to deepen personal practice. The program emphasizes gentle, adaptable asana, mindful breathwork, meditation, and practical teaching skills that translate to studios, healthcare settings, schools, and community spaces.
Rooted in classical yoga philosophy, the curriculum includes in-depth study of the Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita, ethical foundations (Yamas and Niyamas), and yoga history, alongside functional anatomy, skeletal variability, and nervous-system literacy. Trainees learn to approach yoga as a tool for regulation, self-awareness, and resilience, rather than performance or physical achievement.
The modular weekend format allows students to integrate learning gradually, making the program well suited for working professionals and lifelong learners. We prioritize integration over intensity, offering space for reflection, mentorship, and practice teaching rather than a fast-track approach.
Just Plain Yoga’s teacher training is trauma-informed, inclusive, and rooted in respect for yoga’s origins, while remaining practical and relevant for modern life. Graduates leave with a strong foundation, ethical clarity, and the confidence to teach yoga with integrity, adaptability, and care.
