What students say
The school provided a warm, inclusive, professional, and educational environment. I was impacted by the current war in the Middle East, and it delayed me arriving on time to begin the program with the rest of my cohort. They were very understanding, communicated with me regularly, and worked with me on how to make up the time not in person. From the minute I stepped into the shala, I was warmly received, incorporated into the group, and included by the staff and my fellow cohort students. The program and the education was intentional and led by experienced and passionate teachers who wanted us to succeed, and also, encouraged us to develop our own style as teachers-- not copy them. They (and the school staff that I interacted with) seemed like they embodied living yoga, not just selling and teaching it. Their feedback when we were practicing teaching our classes was constructive, encouraging, and actionable. While the curriculum was within yoga alliance guidelines and frameworks, and well crafted, what will stay with me the most is how they made me feel. Any impactful yoga teacher knows how important their students feeling seen, supported, and included is for business but also for being a living example and expression of yoga. Yoga is not just a class, it's an experience and a gateway to helping people gain more self awareness and inner peace. ULU offered me kindness, intention, respect, and care. They exhibited the philosophies and principles of yoga beyond the mat with me. I will take the power of that with me along my journey as a teacher.
The program was very well-rounded — we got to experience multiple yoga styles, had plenty of teaching practice, and the online portion was also thoughtfully structured. The instructors were absolutely amazing!
