About this retreat
Five Parks School of Yoga is a Registered Yoga School (RYS 200) led by E-RYT 500, YACEP Erin Sampson — a yoga teacher with over 15 years of experience and one of the most-watched yoga educators on YouTube, with hundreds of thousands of students practicing worldwide.
Our teacher training is built on a simple belief: the best yoga teachers are the ones who have genuinely lived the practice. Not just studied it — but let it change them. That's the foundation of everything we teach.
The Five Parks RYT-200 program is offered as an immersive in-person training held at Casa Colorado in Tamarindo, Costa Rica, with a virtual pre-training component that students complete from home before arriving. This hybrid model means you arrive in Costa Rica already grounded in the foundations — so the in-person time can go deeper, get more personal, and feel less like a classroom and more like a transformation.
Our curriculum covers yoga philosophy, anatomy and physiology, teaching methodology, sequencing, pranayama, meditation, and the professional skills you need to teach with confidence. It is built on Yoga Alliance's 200-hour standards and draws from over a decade of real-world teaching experience — not just textbooks.
What makes Five Parks different isn't just the location (though yes, Costa Rica is extraordinary). It's the community. It's the size — small cohorts, real relationships, personal attention. It's Erin's approach: warm, grounded, deeply knowledgeable, and always real.
We train teachers who are ready to show up fully — for their students, for their communities, and for themselves.
