Zenya Yoga Academy – Yoga Teacher Training Mission
At Zenya Yoga Academy, our mission is to cultivate skilled, confident, and compassionate yoga teachers who embody the values of Zenya Yoga Studio—integrity, inclusivity, growth, and community.
We are dedicated to providing a transformative training experience that deepens each student’s personal practice while equipping them with the knowledge, tools, and real-world skills to inspire others on their yoga journey.
Through expert instruction, mentorship, and hands-on teaching opportunities, we foster an environment where every trainee feels supported, challenged, and empowered. Our aim is to not only prepare exceptional instructors but to nurture mindful leaders who carry the spirit of yoga beyond the mat—uplifting individuals, strengthening communities, and creating positive change in the world.
Our Teaching Style
At Zenya Yoga Academy, our Yoga Teacher Training is rooted in the art and science of Vinyasa Flow—a dynamic style where breath and movement are seamlessly linked. This athletic yet mindful practice blends strength, flexibility, concentration, and balance, allowing students to move with intelligence, awareness, and ease.
In training, we break down the building blocks of Vinyasa Flow—alignment, sequencing, cueing, and the safe progression of poses—while weaving in the deeper aspects of yoga philosophy, breathwork, and mindfulness.
Our approach is experiential and hands-on. From the very first weekend, you’ll teach, receive feedback, and refine your skills in a supportive and inclusive environment. We also prepare you to adapt your teaching for different styles, settings, and student needs—so you graduate ready to lead classes with both confidence and authenticity.

I really enjoyed my experience with Zenya RYT200 teacher training. The highlights were the variety of the teaching faculty, the focus on several of the 8 limbs of yoga and the chance to deepen my physical practice, get more out of Pranayama and get an introduction to Aryuveda, chakras and bhandas. I also really enjoyed the diverse group that took this journey together. I have stayed in touch with a number of them. The space of the Zenya school in Portsmouth is a nice facility and it was always a treat to spend a weekend there with our yoga peeps! The lowlight is the admin side: some handouts provided by instructors were not always professional grade and the focus of the weekend was changed without students being informed.
