About Yoga Studies Institute
Since 2005, The Yoga Studies Institute (YSI) has been shining light on the path of yoga in trainings around the world. Our Path to Mastery focuses on 4 main components: (1) asana (2) meditation (3) philosophy, and (4) service. Our training programs bring students through the three levels of novice, skilled, and advanced, in a diverse curriculum that generally takes 5-7 years to complete.
Our physical asana programs include an RYT 200 focused on the teachings of the great yogi, Niguma. We base our meditation programs on the Buddhist tradition of the 9 Stages of Meditation of Master Kamalashila, and we focus our philosophy on the classics of yoga including the Yoga Sutras, the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, and the Bhagavad Gita, as well as many different Buddhist source texts including the teachings of Naropa and Je Tsongkapa and Pakpa Lobsang Chundzin.
We believe that the fundamental success of any yoga practice is the development of a good heart and so we emphasize a personal commitment to living ethically and to service projects as key elements in our journey.

YSI is a legitimate an authentic yoga school, the teachers are amazingly prepared and the continous education is superb
My experience with the Yoga Studies Institute teacher training program has been deeply meaningful and transformative. This training is not only about learning techniques or accumulating knowledge, but about cultivating wisdom, clarity, and responsibility—both as a practitioner and as a teacher. The program is structured with great care, grounded in authentic lineage, and guided by teachers who embody what they teach. What touched me most is how the training consistently brings learning back to daily life—our relationships, our choices, and the way we show up for others.
