VIDA Fitness Yoga Center's 200-hour Teacher Training Program is a comprehensive program designed to give students an understanding of Yoga beyond just the postures or Asana practice. This course follows the path outlined in the Pancha Maya Kosha model of Being, as laid out in the Taittiriya Upanishad, and the associated yoga practices for each layer. Starting with the physical (Asana or postures), we then move to the energetic system (Pranayama), the mind (Meditation), the Intellect (Philosophy), and finally the timeless Self or Atman (Awareness without object) that is the foundation of the manifest Universe. Yeah, it’s deep!
Students will learn a variety of techniques-Asana, Pranayama, Kriya, Meditation, Mantra, Mudra- and learn to teach them as well.
Both Reston and Yards courses are led and developed by Chris Parkison, Julia Romano, and other Master instructors from the DMV Community. You’ll learn to teach from Masters who have taught and shared what they learned from their Masters and their own experiences, continuing the unbroken and unbreakable chain of transmission that goes back thousands of years.
We hold two teacher trainings per year- one at our Yards location and one at our Reston location. Each is 10 weekends in person (Saturday and Sunday) over 4 months. Upon graduation, you will be a 200-hour certified Yoga Teacher, qualified to lead classes anywhere in the world.
