Universal Spirit Yoga

Yoga Gyan Jyoti, Center for Yoga and Ayurveda has been offering yoga teacher training programs since 2009.

We offer two programs every year at the 200 level and one program at the 300 level. In addition, our school offers training in prenatal yoga and a 200 level training in Spanish.

Our programs integrates yoga and ayurveda and adopts a very wholistic approach to asana practice. Students at the 200 level have an opportunity to study Sanskrit, pranayama, energy healing and Ayurveda while learning how to modify yoga poses for pregnancy, children and cancer patients. Primary yogic scripture for this class is Yoga Sutras of Sage Patanjali.

All yoga heals and our 300 level program takes students further in their understanding of yoga as a therapeutic science. This level trains students to modify and adjust poses. Students learn to make yoga poses accessible for all kinds of populations. Each class covers a body part or system and how to bring it into balance through asana, pranayama and ayurveda. A lot of people come to yoga due to some healh challenge. Our trainees are prepared to teach group classes as well as to work with individual clients in private classes.

We are a member school with IAYT (International Association of Yoga Therapists). Students receive  detailed information about alignment and modifications in regards to physical, mental and energetic challenges. They learn yoga philosophy through original yogic texts like Bhagvad Gita, Hatha Yoga Pradipika and more.

The main faculty is an Ayurvedic practitioner and Yoga Therapist.
