The Rock Creek Sports Club
About The Rock Creek Sports Club
The YSP 200hr Multidisciplinary Yoga Teacher Training is for you to study and apply theories and techniques found in yoga practices & sitting meditation (sadhanas). You will gain ‘know how’ through direct experience. Curiosity, creativity and critical thinking are some of the tools used to develop your mind, body & spirit. This includes your relationship to your ‘self,’ others, community and the environment. You will apply these arts & sciences with group support to develop your voice + personal style. This knowledge, and how it relates to modern life, both as a yogi and as a teacher, is available for you to embrace.
ALL ARE INVITED
The YSP 200hr Multidisciplinary Yoga Teacher Training is a cross-cultural learning process open to all levels, lineages & lifestyles. It is open for everyone to study the classic books found in yoga sadhana, buddhadhamma & the tao. It is for a contemporary expression of this knowledge found through studying human behavior & mind-body psychology. Emphasis is placed on experiential learning in sangha (community), with compassionate observation into self-realization, coupled with the sharing and deep listening to each other’s experience(s).
WHAT MAKES THE 200HR MYTT UNIQUE?
The uniqueness comes from the trainees who naturally gravitate towards an experiential, exploratory and expansive way of learning, processing and practicing. The uniqueness comes from those who are already in the midst of the search! It comes from the collective of individuals who join this training and make up the fertile and potent ground of community (sangha). We are community and not teacher focused. We encourage & trust you to rely on your instinct, work with all of your parts, and realize that there is more in you than you might know! The YSP 200hr MYYT has a multitude of subject matter and practices for each trainee to choose from. We believe that there is no ‘set way’ to practice one’s yoga. There are many ways to practice, and many ways to teach from your experience. Through the months of training & practicing, you will discover, refine and share your yoga, in a teaching style that suits your uniqueness. All are welcome!

The Yoga Service Project is a multidisciplinary yoga teacher training program developed by Daniel Hickman and Ayanna Smith. The training prepared me to start my own journey as a yoga teacher and regular practitioner.
