I’m deeply grateful that I did my teacher training with Kaya Yoga. What stood out most to me was how we were encouraged to ground our practice and teaching not just in movement, but in Yoga philosophy and community. For someone early in their teaching journey, I believe it’s so important to root deeply into foundations and alignment, because everything arises from there. And that’s exactly what Kaya offered. It was never about aesthetics, performance, or competition. It was always about honoring the student’s truth — meeting them where they are, working with their capacity and reality, and ensuring their safety. As I continue to explore my own practice and share it with others, I know I’ll always carry with me the wisdom and grounding I received from Kaya. <3
What I love the most about the way the way the Kaya Yoga Teacher Training has been taught is Teacher Honey's emphasis on adjustments for better alignment. This mindset instilled in teachers-in-training like me to consider the circumstances of the student and how we can make poses more accessible for them while still encouraging them to access their individual strength. This is echoed in how the Kaya Yoga Teacher Training is taught as well. There is discipline taught -- from the technicalities of asana to the spirituality of why we do the asanas; these are covered in the curriculum. What is most commendable is that Teacher Honey doesn't just practice what she teaches on the mat, I can see how it is practiced off the mat as well. Teacher Honey understands that life happens and sometimes, priorities shift, thus, she is willing to give us students grace on timelines and create space for us to forge our own paths in yoga, so our practice better aligns with where we are at life.
