In 2007 a group of devoted students approached me to create a teacher training program based on the deeply spiritual and personally transformative way I taught yoga.  Divine Light Yoga is about authentically connecting to the unique nature in each individual for expansion and pure joy.  Learning to teach is secondary to the inner work that is paramount in this course.  First, each student establishes their Sadhana, a personal spiritual practice, and from that platform, their unique voice gives rise to their teaching style.

The 200 HR program is based in the rich format of Patanjali's 8 limbed path, Desikachar's honest and humble teachings and Iyengar's supreme principles of alignment. This course will establish a solid teaching platform while laying out the natural and critical practices to enrich your spiritual practice and teaching. We live the practice, we become yoga, a union of all parts of ourselves and the striving is released as we relax into our true divine nature, in this householder lifestyle.  This is what makes this program so much more than yoga teacher training, it is life training, totally. "

The 300 HR Advanced program takes each teacher to an entire new level of self awareness, skill sets, personal spiritual practice and incredible soul connection.  Beyond the classroom aspects of learning how to manage, enhance, inspire and cultivate a richer teaching experience, we take our hearts and souls beyond. We fill the cup to overflowing with an abundance of experiences in the subtle realm, with psychology, social justice awareness, ethical precepts, compassionate boundary work, historical relevance, marketing and digital competency as well as addressing the most important and current issues facing yoga teachers today.  This course will ask you to dive into your deepest parts to grow and connect, to heal and harmonize and to solidify your authentic teaching voice.  To be a fully emboldened human we embrace this human experience, and all the joys, sufferings, challenges and find a way to live it in balance with Nature. She is our Wisdom Teacher.  Join me, this is the journey you have been waiting for.

With all my heart, I encourage anyone interested in a training certification program to consider Divine Light Yoga. I’ve been practicing yoga for over 50 years. I had no intention of teaching but wanted to gain a deeper understanding of the whole of yoga, as well as deepen my practice. This teacher training program went so far beyond my expectations on all levels, from the retreat-like setting among the majestic redwoods, to the personal growth I experienced, to the solid and comprehensive foundation I’ve acquired. In addition, it was fun! The curriculum was excellent, drawing on Denise’s study of Ayurveda, Yoga Therapy, pranayama, the energy body, as well as all the basics. Each day she brought her unwavering energy, her joy, her integrity, and wisdom to each one of us in the class. Many thanks to Denise. She introduced me to a part of myself I hadn’t met yet! Now it’s time, for me to take that out into the world as an offering to others.

Divine Light Yoga's 200hr Teacher training was a beautiful and memorable journey. This course was taught by Denise, who not only has dedicated her life to every aspect of this vast practice and lifestyle, but the joy and appreciation for the teachings gushes from her pores. She creates an environment that fosters curiosity and self exploration. There was a perfect balance of philosophy, anatomy, asanas, and various tools and techniques that will enhance my ability to move forward as a teacher. I am forever grateful. Namaste, Divine Light Yoga.
