DEEP YOGA

The intention at DEEP YOGA is to help aspiring Yoga practitioners to be able to fulfil, realise and accomplish their desires, to become more knowledgeable, adept and confident with their Yoga practice, whatever that may be. Graduating from DEEP YOGA’s  Yoga Alliance accredited 200hrs Yoga Teacher Training course will, give you the minimum required tools and skill sets to be able to teach Yoga, to individuals, small groups and larger classes. At DEEP YOGA we recognise that not all those who embark on the 200hrs YTT course may want to teach, but instead are simply looking to enhance there own understanding of Yoga. Hence, the course is designed to accommodate those students that may not want to follow a path of teaching. However, everyone will be taught in how to share knowledge.

The DEEP YOGA manual shows the teaching lineage of the school, all the way back to Guru Tirumalai Krishnamacharya, Guru BKS Iyengar, Guru Pattabhi Jois and Guru Ramana Maharshi. All these forefathers of modern day Yoga have had an influence in how we at DEEP YOGA present, practice and teach Yoga. A significant aspect of our teaching will be to relate back to these forefathers of modern Yoga. For example, asanas will be taught with a focus on both alignment and significance. Graduates will have the confidence to adjust and correct students and/or suggest alternatives. At the same time they will also be exposed to a wider context of what Yoga is and can be, relative to how we in the West think, live and behave.

The course is intentionally described as multi-style Yoga, as we at DEEP YOGA have been influenced by all the major divergent lineages, and aim to develop well rounded Yoga teachers. Consequently, the curriculum covers a broad range of Yoga styles. All Yoga teachers within the DEEP YOGA faculty are experienced, and will bring their specialist knowledge to the course, which will ensure a comprehensive understanding will be delivered to students.

The teaching faculty at DEEP YOGA understand that we occupy a place of honour and thus have a responsibility to our students. With humility we offer our own individual voice. Every teacher is also a student. As teachers we seek to inspire and also create boundaries to direct the student’s energies. Anything we do that detracts from the student’s ability to focus on the art of Yoga will not be a part of our teaching.
