About this retreat
Sun & Moon Yoga is about connection. We connect minds to bodies, yoga practice to wellness, and people to each other. Our teachers have been supporting and embracing every individual who walks through our locally-owned, community-supported doors since 1994.
“In-Depth” yoga teacher training programs at Sun & Moon are for students and current teachers who realize that yoga is a deeply intimate and evolving event for the body-mind-spirit, and that its beauty lies in how differently it is expressed from person to person. We offer essential information and tools to help guide the emerging teacher in finding his or her unique voice and style of teaching.
Our program name is deliberate; we set the stage for life-long study. We focus our work on the rich and deep traditions of classical yoga. Sun & Moon In-Depth stands out in these significant ways:
• visiting guest teachers sourced from Sun & Moon’s relationships with some of the country’s most prominent leaders in yoga;
• rich and eclectic training and inspiration from Sun & Moon’s own senior teachers;
• the length and duration of our programs, which foster the time and patience required to absorb and embody the curriculum;
• a vast web of learning from each other as our strong and committed community continually expands;
• support and guidance in the direction that serves you.
Our 200-hour Foundations Program is for anyone seeking to deepen their practice and understanding of yoga, whether it’s to share with and teach to others, or enhance one’s own experience of yoga’s depths. This ten-month program launches each September.
Our 300-hour Dharma Program is for current teachers to immerse themselves in the art, practice, science, and life of a yoga practitioner and teacher, and to follow their unique yogic path along the inter-related streams of serving bodies, serving minds, and serving the world.
Ultimately, the journey of yoga has as much to do with our commitment to the path as the accumulation of knowledge. Nothing can substitute for the experience of living what we take in as classroom study. Whether you’re looking to deepen your own practice, teach to the general public, or refine and specialize your current teaching, our programs provide the skills to practice/teach/live with intelligence, safety and joy.
