About this retreat
Spirit of Love Yoga Shala & Grounding Sanctuary is dedicated to offering accurate, in-depth, and clear content and curriculum to our students and practitioners, meeting and exceeding the standards as outlined by Yoga Alliance. Steeped in traditional yoga lineage focusing on both the Ashtanga Primary Series and more modern vinyasa-flow styles, our teacher training program will be offered mostly in-person, with select lessons being offered live via a virtual platform. Content will be delivered in a variety of methodologies, allowing trainees to participate in self-study, journaling/reflection, group discussion, guided practice, reading of required course text, practice teaching, and more.
Trainees will be expected to:
· agree to and abide by all rules and regulations, both during the training and thereafter, as outlined in the SOL Yoga Shala & Training Center policies and on yogaalliance.org.
· complete all course requirements, as outlined in the SOL Yoga Shala & Training Center 200 hr RYT Training Manual, Daily Schedule, and RYS 200 Core Curriculum and Competencies (yogaalliance.org)
· agree to uphold a continuing level of professionalism within the yoga practice and community as credentialed members of yoga-related professional organizations, lifelong learners committed to continuing education and daily practice, and embodiment of the yamas and niyamas- with continued intention to uphold ethical standards/expectations and to take action to create/maintain a yoga community accessible to and inclusive of all
In return, trainees can expect from our school:
· comprehensive, in-depth training rooted in yoga lineage as outlined in the SOL Yoga Shala & Training Center 200 hr RYT and Yoga Alliance RYS 200 Core Curriculum guides
· to learn, both intellectually and physically, the relationship between asana, pranayama, and meditation through self-study, guided practice, and teaching practicum hours
· to graduate with an understanding of not only what it takes to safely lead a yoga class, but also to comprehend what it means to be an instructor of yoga- the theory, principals, and ethics behind the practice along with how to get started in the profession and create/maintain a community steeped in accessibility and inclusion for all
