About this retreat
This 200 Hour RYT Yoga Alliance certified teacher training program teaches the foundations of yoga helping students begin to understand the many layers of this ancient practice. Joan Hyman who is the lead teacher of this school, has been practicing yoga for well over twenty five years. She has studied Ashtanga Yoga from primary to third series, and Iyengar Yoga in Los Angeles being influenced by some of the most profound teachers in the world. She has a passion for traveling and living her yoga where-ever she goes and believes yoga is a practice of life. Learn how to embody yoga physically, mentally, and emotionally and understand all the elements that make up a complete and sustainable yoga practice. This training is suitable for all levels and will cover basic and grounding asanas such as standing postures and move towards inversions and backbends. We will explore the many layers that make up a yoga practice and learn anatomy and the subtle body. Learn how to sequence postures together creating sequences that transform the body and mind. We will look in-depth of the yoga sutras and learn how to apply them to our daily lives. Each day will open with a long practice, followed by lecture, hands on adjustments and practice teaching. Joan believes a two hundred hour is the first step to understanding how to practice and from here we can begin to gain the confidence to teach.
