About this retreat

Elif TÜRKYOLU and the Story of PADMA I am, in essence, a Senior Architect, but life catapulted me—quite literally—into Yoga Teaching. Even when I resisted, I always found myself on the mat. Yoga was the key to a door that opened to myself. It took me on a journey of self-discovery. Although I always hoped it would be a gentle walk, it was actually a path full of ups and downs, steep slopes, and narrow passes. Then, the journey introduced me to the Healing of Breath. My life changed completely. I made ancient techniques and practices a part of my everyday life. While I was healing myself, I also began sharing this gift with others. I worked extensively with women because I have always believed in the power and capabilities of women. I organized women’s circles and joined many others. I have witnessed this extraordinary power time and again. This power eventually led me to Prenatal Yoga Teaching, and it also began a healing process in my own womanhood. Dozens of trainings and practices followed, each serving as a tool to rediscover myself over and over again. At one point, the road took me to India— They call it “Mother India.” She embraced me with the compassion of a mother. I lived there for a while and went through a transformation so profound that my life can be divided into “before” and “after.” India gifted me the Tibetan Singing Bowls. The magical and healing world of sound became part of my life. A lotus seed was planted deep in my heart on that land— That is Padma. Just before the pandemic began, we founded Padma. During the pandemic, we started operating online, and later, with great excitement, we began meeting face-to-face. AND NOW, PADMA is much more than a yoga school. It is a space for sharing. From this space, I want us to grow, learn, and teach one another. I believe in the possibility of another way of living— Heartfelt and Real! Sincere and Honest! A way in which we can reconnect with the core qualities of being human. And this is a lifelong exploration— To discover yourself, to explore what you are capable of, to reveal your potential, to realize yourself, and to repeat this again and again… You can begin this exploration right now, from where you are, with your current circumstances— That’s how I began. Without thinking too much about what would come next. The road is safe, compassionate, and supportive. I am here with all my guidance for your journey. With love, Elif
