Mandorla Yoga Institute

About this retreat

Mandorla Yoga Institute is a yoga teacher training and continuing education provider, offering our 200-hour foundational program in Somatic Embodiment Yoga for RYT registration through the Yoga Alliance.

Our comprehensive 200-hr RYT in Somatic Embodiment Yoga is a journey of self-discovery that guides you in becoming adept in your embodied understanding of your body, mind, and emotions. Now in its 17th year, this program is a trauma-informed experience offered in a neurodivergent-affirming space. Our teachers work alongside you to adapt the curriculum to your unique learning needs as you explore the important foundational pillars of adaptive yoga, originating from the Krishnamacharya lineage.

This is a rich program that engages you with Yoga's philosophy via the Yoga Sutra of Patanjali; embodiment through the lens of the Ayurvedic elements and the 5 kosha (physical-emotional-mental-energetic-spiritual); somatic mindfulness through reflection, meditation, and pranayama; and restoring your relationship with your body through nervous system regulation, sensory modulation, and adaptive asana. Students are also introduced to a comprehensive curriculum in functional anatomy that prepares them to be mindful of the most common injuries and health conditions they will encounter as yoga teachers and how to navigate the teaching of asana in a safe manner that first does no harm.

Founded by Stefani Wilton, C-IAYT Yoga Therapist, Registered Massage Therapist, and Integrative Somatic Therapist (C-ISTP), Mandorla Yoga Institute is also registered in Canada to provide our 800-hour yoga therapist training in Somatic Yoga Therapy. Out of respect to the Yoga Alliance guidelines, we have separated these two programs, allowing graduates from our 200-hr yoga teacher training to register with the Yoga Alliance as a 200-hr RYT. Stefani is a YACEP provider and can provide you with continuing education credits through further somatic-focused training.
