Kaivalyadhama

About this retreat

Established in 1924, Kaivalyadhama Yoga Institute, Lonavala is among the world’s oldest and most respected centres of traditional Yoga, with a legacy spanning over a century. Rooted in classical yogic wisdom and strengthened through scientific validation, Kaivalyadhama has played a pioneering role in presenting Yoga as a holistic science for human well-being. The institute is globally recognised for its historic contributions, including the publication of the first scientific Yoga research journal Yoga Mimamsa, establishment of the first College of Yoga, and the first dedicated Yoga Therapy hospital.

Under our RYS 200 credential, Kaivalyadhama offers structured teacher training formats such as the Yoga Teacher Training Course (YTTC) and the Yoga Instructor Course (YIC). These programs provide a balanced blend of theory, practice, teaching methodology, and experiential learning, enabling students to develop both personal depth and professional competence.

The training is rooted in classical Hatha Yoga and the teachings of the Yoga tradition, supported by inputs from research, philosophy, anatomy & physiology, and applied yogic practices. Students benefit from systematic instruction, disciplined practice, and guidance from highly experienced faculty within a spiritually vibrant and academically rich environment.

Beyond techniques, the programs aim at inner transformation, clarity of understanding, and the confidence to share Yoga authentically. Graduates of our verified programs become eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYTs).
