About this retreat
Hello!
My name is Debra Mishalove, and I’m the Director of Flow’s Teacher Training. I’m so glad you’ve found your way here.
If you’re curious about teacher training, you already sense that yoga is more than shapes on a mat. Maybe it’s the way a long exhale softens your shoulders, or how something subtly shifts in savasana—a letting go you didn’t realize you were holding. Small moments of presence that quietly change the tone of your day.
Flow’s teacher training is an invitation to explore what lives beneath the practice you already love.
Flow has been offering teacher trainings for over 20 years, and our program is intentionally personal, thoughtfully paced, and rooted in real-world practice—not performance. Unlike many trainings that rely on rotating or visiting faculty, every session is led by our core senior teachers. You’ll be known here—supported, mentored, and guided by teachers who are deeply invested in your growth throughout the training and beyond.
Together, we’ll spend time with the parts of yoga that tend to stay with you long after class ends: the philosophy that supports you off the mat, the subtle body and its language of energy, and the ongoing practice of meeting yourself with honesty and care. We’ll explore what consistency really feels like, how to relate to your mind with more ease, and how breath, attention, and awareness shape not just your practice, but your everyday life.
Whether you plan to teach or are simply curious, this training welcomes anyone with a meaningful practice and a curiosity to explore it more deeply. We welcome students who are here to learn, to question, and to grow.
During the training, we’ll explore:
- Yin, Vinyasa, and Restorative yoga practices
- Yoga philosophy and how it applies to everyday life
- Functional, intelligent sequencing and skillful cueing
- The subtle body, breathwork, and meditation practices
- Anatomy, alignment, and injury-aware teaching
- Yoga and psychology, including trauma-awareness and cultural appropriation
- The inner work of developing presence, confidence, and clarity
Flow offers two ways to complete the 200-hour program: a Spring Intensive and a Fall/Winter five-month Immersion. Our trainings typically fill each season, so we encourage you to apply early.
Take your time exploring our website. And if something sparks a question, please reach out—I’d love to hear from you.
Warmly,
Debra Mishalove
